One, two, three strikes and you're out! Out of luck for those who fought the idea and concept of progress in our community. With city council's vote last evening, the Harrison Square project now has a green light. The Harrison Square plan consists of a baseball stadium, hotel, parking garage, retail and condos.
The talking part of the city council meeting lasted almost four hours. It was after 11:00 p.m. when the 6 to 3 vote, Fort Wayne City Council members gave the green light to the Harrison Square project.
Now, whether or not you like this project, the community needs to come together support the decision and work toward solutions of making the offer even better. I have always found that no matter what lead up to the discussion is boxed and sealed when the final decision is made. Collectively we need to work together. Fort Wayne will soon discover that this project has given hope to multiple generations, restored faith in the power of the pen to elected officials and strengthens the hope of living in this community.
