Party Crasher!

The scene was somewhat like this, with seventy five tables packed with women clamoring to be entertained by Jana Stanfield and inspired by Patty Duke at the Coliseum for the 6th annual Tapestry - A Day for Women (and Carbo). I stopped by to see Jana before she opened her set, and I stayed for breakfast and saw the faces of women laugh and cry. I returned to work and processed and thought and did all those work-like functions. At noon, a client had cancelled for lunch, so I returned to break bread with the ladies and hear Patty Duke. She was captivating, she was alive and she was heroic. Of course I needed to return to work to cut checks and go to the bank and the rest of the work-like duties I needed to accomplish, but I was truly grateful to be an outsider looking in on an amazing display of commodity and compassion. This ends my female-focused fund raising week. On to the United Way which closes its campaign May 3 with a giant event. Stay tuned for more not for profit news.....
