Friday

Smack that ...

Last night, the celebration continued as it will for the next week it seems ... this event was Beef-fest two which became renamed Meatfest ... as we added pork to the repertoire of food consumed.

A gang of four went to Eddie Merlots - where we gobbled loaves of bread, Asian pork, lobster mashed potatoes, french fries, steaks and kabobs even macaroni and cheese (mac'crack n jack). We ended with carrot cake, cheese cake and a Cognac flaming dessert.

We had an amazing time as we toasted my birthday and shared insight to many life changing matters like dating - oye! We discussed how a normal diet of turkey sandwiches ... turkey, turkey, turkey ... then steak .. makes you want to savour the moment for as long as you can.

There is no doubt that turning 40 has its perks. Taking chances to do something never done before, and hoping that the following years are filled with great friends and volumes of cheer remain down the road.

Oh, and one of my 40 from yesterday - never been to a rap concert - may soon be erased as I am going next Thursday to see ... now I am sure... I don't recall his name ... Lil' Big John or Short Lil' Joe or Down Low Bob or Too Tall or something. He sings a song that would make Dolly Parton blush even after hearing her words spliced together ... I can say the song is a tribute to "Betty" but it is not her eyes he is rappin' about.
