Stand in Line...

March 8, 2007 the Northeast Indiana Partnership is hosting a get-off-your-lazy ass and hear the facts about the Harrison Square Project. Actually, it is a bit more than becoming informed it really is a showing to a couple councilmen that there is either support or not from those that may or may not re-elect them in their upcoming term. Where should you be...at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Ave., across from Snider High School. The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Mark Becker, with the city of Fort Wayne, shall present the facts (without newspaper or media censorship) allowing for questions, answers and comments. In my own right, I am a business leader and I do hope that others who are passionate about living in a city that has more to offer than a Walmart in every corner of the community, or a Walgreens at every major intersection attend this hearing. Recreation, entertainment and housing remain key for a downtown community. In addition the forethought of planning is part of this plan, as the schematic will show where and how to get around this section of Downtown. If you read this blog, then you really need to show up at the hearing on March 8. Sound off now or show up then, but be a part of the future of Fort Wayne.

Good post. I plan on attending.

We will also be hosting Mayor Richard, Deputy Mayor Mark Becker and others at IPFW on Wednesday March 14. The presentation will be taking place in Neff Hall, room 101 at 12 noon. A light lunch will be available.

YLNI will also be hosting a similar presentation in a panel discussion format on the same day, (March 14) in the evening at the new downtown library.

This gives everyone three chances in two weeks to learn about the potential of Harrison Square and ask the questions that they may have.

As one organizer of the YLNI event on the 14th, I would like to point out the unique opportunity our event will present. The owners of the Wizards will be in town specifically for our panel discussion. Jason and Chris will join the rest of our panel including Mark Becker, Steve Brody, Dan Carmody, Mark Pope and Steve Gard. You will have an opportunity to share your thoughts and ask questions with local business owners, City officials, and the Wizards owners. Don't miss it!
