The benefit concert for a dude (who I won't name because people may think I am obsessed with him) who won't, can't pay his own bills. OH MY-LANTA! I nearly drove us into a barricade.
Kills me ... has no money but can put an ad on the radio to ask for money from the public! What?!?
Then, it can be found on Indiananewscenter.com web page ... again a benefit concert. The legal defense fund needs our support ... I have to wonder did O.J. beg for money for his defense fund?
So I had to wonder ... what other legal defense fund are out there and wonder if perhaps loans could be taken granted ...

So, as I did my research, I am not finding many "individual" legal defense funds ... they are groups, protected classes, masses of people ... I am simply astounded by this ... or is it appalled, maybe disgusted. Fed-up? Perhaps ... I am going to have a benefit concert for the prosecuting side .. more information to follow!
Oh and send all the hate email you want! There is a Journalist Legal Fund and trust me ... I would set up shop to get money from them since it is the most VOGUE thing one can do in Fort Wayne.

Some people find more value in providing $50 or $100 (or even $25, the cost of one of the radio spots) to quietly help a friend (and his family) in need, than in talking incessantly about spending $10,000 for a stove or thousands more to throw their own birthday party.
You should learn to live and let live. I guaranty you that Kelty wouldn't begrudge you your apparent success and fabulous life one bit. Why distract yourself from Carbomania with all of the angst over what his friends are doing to help him and his family?

The nice thing about anything I have purchased or done ... I have paid for ... I have not once borrowed the money or asked others to support my desire to have something.
I am not making this newsworthy ... it makes news by being promoted and covered by the local media ... I am responding to my pure emotion of finding this matter totaly amazaing!
Hey Anonymous--- why doesn't Kelty go get a second job, or third like millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet? It's honestly pathetic. Where's the defense fund for my brother who can't afford an attorney to regain custody of his child from a psycho, abusive ex? Where's the defense fund for African American's who face longer sentences for selling crack than upper class whites face for selling cocaine? Where's the defense fund for all the people who made a mistake drinking one night and got their asses handed to them in court because they couldn't afford an attorney- now with that on their driving record--- go get a job! Good Luck on that. I see no legal defense fund for any of these people- because they're not privileged and they don't have privileged friends. They don't know anyone, have connections, or get to run ads. No one comes to their defense. The jail is full of them- maybe Kelty can visit and learn.
The fact of the matter is...if someone is a TRUE friend, then they would already be in the know about one needing help and would be helping their friend, WITHOUT a public begging going on.
Plus...when a TRUE friend helps one...they do it quietly...not for everyone to know...because if someone really needs help...well, that walk in life is hard enough on one, without someone looking for the glory for helping them out.
Carbo...you have a lot to be proud of...keep up your hard work and enjoy your success...and for your quiet ways of helping many, that you NEVER take your blog space to brag about.

OMG! Seriously "anonymous"? Kelty wouldn't be in these type of legal troubles if he was an honest person to begin with. I'm sorry but I do not have pity on a man who is a fraud... and there are 7 felony charges that agree with me. I "guaranty" it.
Why stick up for a snake like Kelty and put down Mark who is a fabulous generous person that cares about his community and his friends. Who cares what he spends on kitchens? He works hard and deserves what he has earned in his life.
And obviously you've never been to one of Mark's party's because you wouldn't have made such an absurd comment. Mark doesn't throw these parties to be ostentatious... he does it to bring people together to have a good time. That is why Mark has tons of friends and people love to be around him.
And Mark does know about helping a friend in need. He offered to let me live with him when I didn't have a place to stay... and I didn't even have to put out a radio ad to ask him to do so. So my suggestion to you is to man up and quit hiding behind the anonymity of the internet when you personally blast someone.

Good for you. You have never been in a situation where you had to ask for help. Why belittle someone else for how they handle difficulties from which you have been spared? Why do you need to project disdain rather than a little empathy, or just remaining silent about something that doesn't concern you at all?
It sounds like you are a little envious that Kelty has so many friends willing to stand by him. If not that, then perhaps you just find amusement in the struggles of others. Really, from your lofty perch, why spend time beating up on one of the guys beneath your feet?

And I have been spared for legal difficulties because I chose not to run for mayor and act in a fraudulent manner. Its really pretty simple. It's not that I'm not sensitive to the difficulties of other, it's that I'm not sensitive to the difficulties of others that deserve what they are getting. That is the reason we have laws. You break them you should accept the consequences. And I do truly feel bad for Mr. Kelty having to auction off his home and move to a lakeside cottage... poor soul!
And most of my disdain was directed towards you for attacking Mark and not towards K-dog.
And usually from my fabulous lofty perch that I have built by being an honest law abiding citizen I usually don't beat down the people beneath me... but you know what I do? I spot hypocrites... And I spy with my tiny eye a hypocrite named anonymous. Please do not tell me to not comment on things that do not concern me... because unless Anonymous really stands for Matt Kelty then you shouldn't have commented in the first place. And unless I'm mistaken you seem to be a little envious of Mark and project disdain towards him. So why would you belittle me for just mirroring your behavior? Have you ever heard the phrase "Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black"?

I've got to agree with the others. Its sad to know how innocent members of his family will be impacted by this financial problem. However, HE chose to act in unethical ways. I can give him a 'mulligan' on maybe being confused about the reporting laws for his contributors (and that is being VERY generous). The big problem is when he went to court and then lied about whether or not he lied!! I mean how can that be confusing? There are no special political laws that make it confusing to answer the question "did you get that money from another source and then tell people it came from you?" He made his situation worse all by himself.
P.S. - Mr or Ms Anonymous...in case you didn't know, this is Mark's blog, so he can vent, talk, fixate or ponder about whatever he choses. He isn't going on the public airwaves, so it isn't hurting anyone. The only people who see it are those who chose to go to the site. If it bothers you so bad, don't come here and read it. You must be a little fixated yourself to be constantly viewing his blog just in case he talks about your buddy Kelty. Talk about get a life!
